Willis “Bill” W. Clark, age 88 of Otter Lake, died Saturday, January 31, 2026. His funeral service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Pastor Nathan Rasor officiating. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 4-8PM and on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 11AM until the time of his service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Aspire Hospice Marlette P.O. Box 307, Marlette MI 48453 or to the Shriners children’s 2900 N. rocky Point Dr. Tampa, Fl 33607.
Bill was born in Otter Lake on the family farm, on March 20, 1937 to Maxwell and Marjorie Clark after graduation he proudly served his country in the US Navy, earning the rank of MM3. He married Helen Simms on August 15, 1959 in Warrensburg, MO. When visiting Missouri, Bill learned about drilling soybeans and brought the new technology back to Michigan. Bill was a truck driver and drove for Vesely Camping Trailer companies and General Motors and even used his own truck to haul for other people. His true passion was farming. He loved his Farmall tractors and was a proud member of the American Angus Association, as shown by his herd of Angus cattle. Bill also collected toy tractors and firearms of all makes from across the United States. When purchasing things, Bill loved to haggle and if nothing else, he at least got a free hat out of the deal. He was a proud UAW member of the Local 659 and served as Marathon Township trustee for 2 terms. If you knew Bill, you knew he was a proud Democrat.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Clark; children: James W. (Marilyn) Clark and Karen (Curt) Joyce; grandchildren: James II (Cyrena) Clark, Jared (Hannah) Clark, Alyson (Caleb) Wilson, and Chris (Amber) Joyce; great grandchildren: Rosalie, Levi, Ella, and Colton; and niece, Laura Johnson. Bill left behind many other family and special friends, including Elsie Plivelich and the coffee crew at the Otter Lake Bar.
He was preceded in death by his brother, LeRoy and his parents.
