William Hubert Wilson Sr.

William Hubert Wilson, 87, passed away peacefully in Otisville, Michigan on February 12 ^th , 2023.  He was a United States Air Force veteran and a Sales & Marketing consultant in the automotive industry.

William was born October 17 ^th , 1935, in Toronto, Canada, to his parents Hubert & Aida Wilson. At 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Plattsburg Air Force Base in New York. His military service led him to U.S. Air Force bases across Europe serving in the Strategic Air Command from 1953 through 1958.

After honorably serving in the Air Force, he proudly attended Michigan State University obtaining a bachelor's degree in marketing. Upon graduating from MSU, William worked as a draftsman for REO Trucks in Lansing, MI. As his professional career evolved it led him to General Motor's Corporation, where he excelled as a Sales and Marketing Manager.

William met his wife, Shirley O'Melia while stationed at Plattsburg AFB, New York and they were married in Quebec, Canada in 1958. They had four children. He is survived by his four children, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Throughout his life, William was passionate about health and sport activities. He was an avid golfer, soft ball player, and ice hockey player, and coached many local youth leagues as an adult. Later in life, running became his passion, and you would find him participating in many of the local community running races. William enjoyed being out on the open road. He took up motorcycle riding, and on many weekends, he would take to the backroads and small towns of Michigan, riding his Harley Davidson.

A memorial service is scheduled on Saturday, March 4 ^th at 11:00am at Mumford Hudson Funeral Home in Otisville, MI. The Family welcomes Williams friends and colleagues to take part in sharing any stories, photos, and memories during his service.
