On Monday, May 10, 2021, William Smith, husband to the late Karen Smith and father to Karill (Geoffrey) McLane passed away at the age of 78. William was born March 10, 1943, in Pontiac Michigan, to Arthur and Augusta Smith. He grew up with 6 sisters and 3 brothers. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marines from 1963 to 1967. He married Karen on Veteran's Day in 1967 after a short engagement. Together they raised a daughter, Karill. William gave his life to the Lord in 1989 and from then on he loved to give his testimony to anyone and everyone that would listen. He studied at Berean Bible College and received his degree in Evangelism. He also performed his daughter's marriage. He loved to travel when he could with his wife, Karen. They were even able to take 2 cruises. Every Father's day, he could be found on the golf course with his daughter. William was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Smith of 53 years, his parents Arthur and Augusta Smith, and 5 sisters and 2 brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Karill (Geoffrey). He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Joyce) Smith and sister, Cynthia Smith. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Robert Bechler and 6 sisters-in-law, Rose (Peter) Houk, Bonnie Delarosa, Janet (Tom) Villarreal, Jackie (Bruce) Bailey, Yvonne Bechler, and Bobbie (David) Brown. There are many loving nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews and great-great nieces/nephews that will miss him. At this time, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his daughter asks that donations be made in William's name to either of the following organizations: VisionPointe Assembly of God in Otisville, MI or the American Lung Association
