Vernon Hopkins

VERNON HOPKINS, age 67 of Otisville, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Richfield Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Alan Duce officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 11AM-2PM and 5-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Richfield Church of the Nazarene. Vern was born on September 28, 1950 to Edwin and LuLu (Smith) Hopkins. He was a member of the UAW Local 651 and the Richfield Church of the Nazarene, where he was the director of the Upward sports program. Vern enjoyed working with kids and getting them involved in church. He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Vern is survived by his wife, Tami, children: Casey, Katie, and Keith; stepchildren: Angela (Mike), Tessa (David), and Charlene; grandchildren: Shelby, Holley, Savannah, Samuel, Bryce, and Parker; siblings: Lila (Allen) Miller, Burton (Joyce) Hopkins, Eileen Wilson, Raymond (Marcia) Hopkins, and Wayne (Gail) Hopkins; aunt: Gladys Diehl; and a host of church family.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
