VANCE R. ROGGENTINE, age 53 of Millington, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11AM Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. Burial will follow in Thetford Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11AM-8PM Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the funeral home. Vance was born on July 23, 1960 in Flint, MI. He married Patti Hammond on September 26, 1987. He worked for Kerley Industries in Otter Lake, MI for 13 years and ITW Polymers Coatings in Oxford, MI for 19 years. Vance was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. He spent many years coaching his two sons in football, baseball and wrestling, as well as playing softball with them on the Messiah Red team. Vance was an avid deer hunter and spent a lot of time in the woods. He also owned K&K Show Cattle, where he bred, raised, and sold show cattle. Vance is survived by his wife, Patti; sons: Kash (Nicky Montgomery) and Kade (Kayla Gonyea); mother: Damaris Krey; brothers and sisters: Dawn (Gary) Pope, Vince (Rita) Roggentine, Gayle (Mike) Rutherford, and Greg Roggentine; father and mother-in-law: Homer and Shirley Hammond; brother-in-laws: Dale (Karen) Hammond and David Hammond; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Roggentine and sister-in-law, Rhonda Hammond.
The family would like to thank everyone who came to Vance's benefit, came to the house to visit, sent cards, brought food, fixed fence, baled hay, worked on the furnace, worked on the electricity, helped with the cows, and kept us in their prayers.
