Sherry L. Smith

SHERRY L. (FICK) SMITH, age 63 of Otisville, passed peacefully from this life with her family by her side on Monday, July 3, 2017. Her funeral service will take place at 11AM on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Richfield Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Alan Duce officiating. Following the service, burial will take place in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 2-8PM at the funeral home and on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 10AM until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Richfield Church of the Nazarene, Reverence Hospice, or to Tricia Smith, Sherry's daughter-in-law, to help with her battle with cancer. Sherry was born on May 26, 1954 to Wayne and Lynn Fick. She worked for 37 years as a histology technician for St. Joseph and Genesys hospitals before retiring. She was a member of the Richfield Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school and was on the Sunday School Board. Sherry enjoyed quilting, gardening, going to the cottage at Sage Lake, and spending time with her family. She was a kind, compassionate, and loving woman.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Bob Smith; children: Blake (Tricia) Smith, Katrina (Troy) Findley, Brent (Lindsay) Smith, and Ellie Smith; grandchildren: Ayanna, Amiaya, Gavin, Antroy, Colson, Madilynn, Ava, and Aaliyah; siblings: Randy (Kathy) Fick, John (Debbie) Fick, Margie (Brian) Thompson, and Renee Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Lynn Fick and stepfather, Earl Johnson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jaunita and to the rest of the hospice team, Denise, Alex, Shelly, and Dave for providing care and comfort to Sherry.
