Shannon Rene Midtgard

Shannon Rene Midtgard, 55, of Davison, MI passed away unexpectedly at her home on September 22nd, 2024.

Shannon was born April 26th, 1969 to Roberta Thomas at Hurley Hospital in Flint, MI. Shannon attended Northern High School and soon after school she moved to Orange Park Florida where she became the deli manager at Publix. He most important job was when she gave birth to her beloved Ashley. In 2002, they moved back to Flint together where Shannon worked for Merry Maids and then the Salvation Army which led her to meet the love of her life, Steve Midtgard. Steve and Shannon we wed at their home in Flint on August 27th, 2007.

Besides loving sports and being a die-hard Lions fan, Shannon loved her Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Tigers. She was a lover of all animals. All of her fur babies were spoiled and never lacked for treats or attention. Her most notable pet was Georgia, the wild turkey that randonly wandered into their yard one summer day and made Shannon her honorary turkey-Mom. You'd have to see her to believe it; it really happened just that simple. Georgia resides with Shannon and Steve's chickens in their coop at their home in Davison.

Shannon was a caring, fun-loving soul that enjoyed being outside. She loved the ocean, gardening and baking and being a proud Trump fan! Gardening was something she loved doing with Steve and then making delicious goodies from their bounty. However, few things made her as proud and brought as much joy as being a Grandmother. Her "Grands" as she referred to them, 7 wonderful grandchildren, whom she adored.

Shannon will be missed dearly by those she left behind. Along with friends, neighbors, her fur baby Junie, she leaves behind her husband Steve of 17 years, her daughter Ashley VanLeeuwen and grandson Dominic. Stepdaughters Jessica (Kevin) Bradley and their children Drew and Danica, Jamey Pitts (Frank McGowan) and her two children Zain and Avenell and the late Aaron Midtgard and his two children Karlie and Hunter.

She was proceeded in death by her Mother Roberta and a step-son Aaron Midtgard.

Shannon did not wish to have formal services upon her passing. A private family service will be held at a later date. Thank you to Mumford Funeral Home for handling the arrangements.
