Samuel Norman Powers

SAMUEL N. POWERS age 91 of Millington died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at his residence. Funeral service will be held 11AM Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Hudson Funeral Service, Inc., Otisville, Elder Bob Seath officiating with burial in Smith Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday 6-9PM and Sunday from 10AM-9PM. Contributions may be made to the Otter Lake Seventh–Day-Adventist Church. Sam was born in Mayville, MI on May 26, 1914 the son of Dayton and Mary (Artress) Powers. Sam moved from Millington to Lapeer, MI until retirement in 1977 then back to "The Farm" in Millington. He married Loura Cronkright in Pontiac MI in 1940. Sam worked as a Physical Therapist Asst. as Lapeer County General Hospital retired in 1977 and was a life long member of the Seventh–Day-Adventist Church. Survivors are his son: Gary Powers; 2 daughters: Nancy Schaaf, Linda Hamstra; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; Sisters: Elaine Sincock and Christine Hunter. He was preceded in death by his wife Loura in 2003; his parents; brothers: Robert Powers, Edward Powers, Losson Powers,. and sister: Frances Mott
