Rose Marie Hakel

Rose Marie Hakel, age 96 of Otisville, died October 14, 2026 at her residence. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 19, 2026 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville, with Rev. Fr. Denis Spitzley officiating. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 18, 2026 from 11AM- 4PM at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home with a rosary service at 4PM, and Monday, October 19, 2026 at the church from 10AM until the time of her service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Rose was born in Detroit, MI on June 21, 1930 to Emidio and Mary Esposti. Rose was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time at the Otisville Senior Center. She also liked painting, photography, crocheting, archery, horseback riding, and snowmobiling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: Eric Hakel, Sherry (Kent) Okamoto, and Debarah Wirwille; grandchildren: Lauren (Mike) Murphy and James (Tammy) Wirwille; and great granddaughter, Amelia.

She was preceded in death her husband, Edward; sister, Evelyn; and brother, Joseph.
