Rosa L. Owenby

ROSA LEE OWENBY, age 85 of Otisville, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at her home. Her funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Pastor Spencer Snow officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 1-8PM. Rosa was born in Blairsville, GA on July 5, 1932 to William and Leona Nix. She married Dillard Owenby on December 26, 1951 in Georgia. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, sewing, cooking chicken and dancing. She is survived by her grandchildren: Michelle Owenby Thompson (Bryan Eastham) of Flint, Carla and Herman Walters of Tennessee, Christy and Tracy Blackwell of Tennessee, Kiley Weaver of Bad Axe, Sandy and Ernest Coleman of Tennessee, Keisha Weaver of Flint, April Owenby of Flint, Casey and Ashley Carmean of Tennessee, Carrie Carmean (Adam) of Tennessee, Andrew Owenby of Flint, and Chad Carmean (Javene) of Tennessee; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and daughter in-law, Olga Limon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard; sons: Larry and Rick Owenby, daughters: Carol Carmean and Deb Slater; grandsons: Robert Weaver and Nikko Germani; several brothers and sisters; and her parents.
