ROBINETTE ELIZABETH CHANDLER, age 94 of Otisville, died Friday, January 6, 2017. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 11 AM at the Thetford Center United Methodist Church, with Pastor Karen Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 6-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Robinette was born on May 29, 1922 to Fares and Alice (Wemple) Nahra. She served as a nurse in the US Army during WWII and continued helping people as an RN for 42 years. Even with her failing sight the past few years, Robinette knitted sweaters for the needy. She was a member of the Thetford Center United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Otisville American Legion, and the Otisville Lions and Lioness Club, where she was past president of both the Lions and the Lioness. She was also the past State Governor of the Lioness. She is survived by her children: Ronald (Connie) Chandler and Linda (Dennis) Harry; grandchildren: Kari (Emery Rosebush) Fritsch, Holly (Tom) Teal, Justin (Buffy) Kish, Ashley Chandler, Chad (Stacey) Harry, and Corey (Mindy) Harry; great-grandchildren: Justin, Rylee, Seth, Zachary, Annabelle, Grace, Christian, Mason, Chandler, Taylor, Laci, and Lawson; siblings: Alice Mae Vankerborek, John (Judy) Nahra, and Fred (Lynda) Nahra; and special nephew, Lee Henry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Chandler; siblings: Fayes (Kay) Nahra and Catherine (Gerald) Hepner.
