ROBERT L. PELTONEN, age 75 of Otter Lake, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Brian's House. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Otisville, Pastor David Weiss officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11AM-1PM and 3PM-8PM at Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home and Wednesday from 12PM until 2PM service time at St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Brian's House. Robert served in the Army as a Paratrooper from August 24, 1954 until February 14, 1958. He received a Good Conduct Medal and Parachutest Badge. He retired from Fisher Body and attended St. Timothy Lutheran Church. He enjoyed sailing, fishing, woodworking, dancing, and camping. He was very creative and could fix anything. Robert was a family man and a man of his word. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Robert will be greatly missed by his wife, Helga; 4 Children: Zane (Pam) Peltonen, Vera Peltonen-Bean, Sabrina Peltonen-Crace, and Lisa (Monte) Hamilton; 9 Grandchildren: Dawn (Jason), Amie, Bryan, Aaron, Courtney, Adam, Tyler, Jordan, and Taylor; 1 great-grandson, Brandon; brothers: Louis (Lorraine) Peltonen and George (Naomi)Peltonen, Richard Peltonen and sister, Ruth Ferris. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Lorraine Floyd and Betty Peltonen; and brother, Wallace Peltonen.
