Robert A. Gifford

ROBERT GIFFORD, age 83 of Otter Lake, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Brian's House. Funeral services will take place 11 AM Monday July 28, 2008 at Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8PM and Sunday from 11AM-3PM and 5-8PM. Burial will take place at Otter Lake Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Brian's House or the Genesee County Humane Society. Bob was born in Otter Lake, MI on November 11, 1924 to Lee and Marie (Giosse) Gifford. He married Ruth M. Berger on October 6, 1973 in Flint. Bob served his country in the Navy during WWII. He retired from Fisher body after 30 years of service where he worked as a repairman. Throughout his life his family and friends were blessed by his ability to fix anything. Bob also enjoyed bowling, hunting,fishing, playing cards, volunteering, and civic service. Surviving are his daughters: Sharon (Jack) Brooks, Debbie (Lynn) Rumsey; his companion, Cindy Clark; several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 1993. We are extremely grateful to his nephew, Bob R. Gifford and family Tina, Amanda, and Tyler for their support. During his illness, they generously gave their love, time, and home. We would also like to thank the entire staff at Brian's House, especially Melinda and Dr. Marvin Latchana, for their love, care, and support during Bob's courageous battle with cancer.
