ROBERT W. DUMLER died Wednesday September 5, 2007 at age 78, peacefully at his residence with his family at his side. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday September 10, 2007 at the Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville with Rev. Jim James officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday 11AM to 3PM and 5 to 9 PM. Otisville Masonic Lodge #401 F&AM will conduct a memorial service 7:30 PM on Sunday Sept. 9, 2007 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice or The Otisville Masonic Temple. Mr. Dumler was born on December 3, 1928 in Flint, Michigan to Gus and Lucille Dumler. On February 28, 1948 Bob married Betty Ann Rouse. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage. Mr. Dumler worked for over thirty years as a Teamster Truck Driver, retiring from Sullivan's & O'Sullivan Distributors in 1989. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He enjoyed reading, genealogy and was always well versed on current events. Bob was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Bob was also a life member of the Otisville Masonic Lodge #401 F&AM, serving honorably as Lodge Master in 1971. He was a devoted Lodge member who stayed active until just recently. In addition to working full time Bob loved to farm and for many years enjoyed raising and riding his horses, with trail riding one of his passions.
Mr. Dumler is survived by his wife of 59 years Betty; son: Douglas and Karen Dumler; daughters: Wendy and Dennis Wheeler, Katherine and Dean Hennessy all of Millington; 7 grandchildren: Vicki and Ed Reed, Amy and Scott Fischer, Heather and Tim Sergent, Tracy and Paul Hensel, Kim and Mike Sugg, Megan and Ed Affer, and Bryan Hennessy; 19 great grandchildren and a brother Walter and Mildred Dumler of Davison as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Jo Ann Miller in 1990. Special thanks to Mary Johns and Genesys Hospice.
