Robert "Gene" Carll

ROBERT "GENE" CARLL, age 89, of Millington died Tuesday August 21, 2018, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, August 24, 2018, at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Rev. Brad Long officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 2-8 PM at the funeral home, with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7PM and a Masonic Memorial service to follow.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Genesee Co. Humane Society. Gene was born on February 6, 1929, to William and Elizabeth Carll. He was a member of the Otisville Masonic Lodge 401 F&AM, where he was a Past Master, Otisville Order of the Eastern Star Nourmahal #282 where he was a Past Patron, associate guardian of Job's Daughters, a Past Royal Patron of the Amaranth.  Gene enjoyed farming, raising Belgian horses, and his 1956 Ford tractor. He retired from General Motors in 1977 after 30 years.  Gene is survived by his wife Bobbie "Jeannie" Carll; children: Cathy (Fred) Barden, John (Cathy) Smith; Renee Carll, and Summer Pratt; grandchildren: Adam (Jean) Barden, Eric (Cheryl) Barden, Kara (Mark) Brace, and Joe (Amber) Smith. Great grandchildren: Elise, Drew, Reid, Wes, and Kyle; siblings Yvonne Rock, Larry (Judy) Carll, and brother in-law Alfred Gilder; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Fred, Billy, and Tom; sisters Frieda, Gerry, Phyllis, and Sharon.
