Richard L. Mathews

Richard Lavern Mathews, age 74, of Otisville, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at his home, with his wife and daughter at his side. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.

Richard was born in Flint, MI on April 6, 1949 to Earl and Julia Mathews. While serving in the military, he met Sharman Graham. They later married on November 9, 1968. Richard enjoyed being outside, spending time with his family and his companion dog, Sydney. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his caring heart, and his love for life.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Sharman; daughter, Amy; dog, Sydney; sister, Veronica (Ronald) Meader; sister-in-law, Vicki Mathews; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 4 sisters; mother-in-law, Ramona (Chavez) Castillo; and his 3 loving pets: Squirtie, Peanut, and Blue.
