RICHARD L. (DICK) CARPENTER Sr. age 71 of Montrose, CO. formerly of Otisville died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Kindred Hospital, Denver, CO. Funeral service will be held 12 Noon Friday, January 1, 2010 at St Christopher's Episcopal Church, 9020 S. Saginaw, Grand Blanc, with Fr. George Cleaves officiating. Burial will be in Oregon Twp. Cemetery, Columbiaville. Visitation will be Thursday, 11AM-7PM at Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville. Dick was born March 3, 1938 the son of Melvin and Gretchen (Leonard) Carpenter. He married Margaret Lazenby Nov. 1, 1958 in St. John's Episcopal Church, Otter Lake. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and UAW Local #659 Metal Fab. He retired as an Otisville Fireman and from G.M. Metal Fab. Surviving are his wife: Maggie; children: Allison (Jeff) Natzke, Rick (Karen) Carpenter, Jim (Valerie) Carpenter, and Paul (Michelle) Carpenter, grand children: Erin (Doug) Hibbs, Scott (Jenna) Natzke, Luke, Cassie, Kellyn, Steven and David Carpenter, Josh and Celina Roberts, 3 great grandchildren: Madelyn Natzke, Elijah Hibbs and Halle Carpenter; Brother and sisters: Leonard (Doris) Carpenter, Virginia Badgley, Beatrice (Dick) Shade and Reva (Gary) Beckwith, sister-in-law: Phyllis Carpenter; brother-in law and sister-in-law: Dale and Kay Lehman, many nieces and nephews; Special friends: Pat Griswold, Dave and Mary DeClute and Fr. Jerry Kistler. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: William and Carl; Brother-in-law: Lyle Badgley; and dear friend, Jim Griswold.
