Norton Averill

NORTON AVERILL, age 82 of Otisville, died Sunday, August 31, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, September 5, 2014 at Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 1-8PM. Contributions may be made to Shriners Children Hospital or American Diabetes Association. Norton was born on August 10, 1932 to Norton and Maxine Averill. He was a member of the Otisville Masonic Lodge 401 F&AM, Elf Khurafeh Air Patrol, Otisville Jaycees, LakeVille School Board and Moose Lodge. Norton enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a big sports fan, especially of baseball. Surviving is his wife of 64 years, MaryLee; children: Deborah (Keith) Bowman, Cynthia (Dave) Thomas, Barbara Averill and Jeffrey Averill; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Podoley; sister-in-law, Donna Averill; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard; grandson, Brian; brother, Wayne; brother-in-law, Jim; parents; and stepfather, Chuck Eagan.
