Norma Jean Gross

NORMA J GROSS , age 90 of Otisville, died on Monday, January 30, 2023 at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 1PM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 1-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Norma was born in Battle Creek, MI on April 8, 1932 to Clifford and Ruth Johnson.  She enjoyed sewing, baking cakes, and doing puzzles. Norma worked as a Nurse Aid at McLaren Hospital in Lapeer for many years. She crocheted baby quilts for all of her grandchildren, who were the highlight of her life. Norma and her husband, John traveled a lot. They were able to visit all fifty states and she also went on a cruise to Italy. Over the last few years, her cat Benny, could always be found at her side. Norma is survived by her children: Connie Welch, John (Claudette) Gross, and Barbara Lawrence; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Joseph (Sandra) Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; grandson, Corey Welch; sons- in-law: Robert Welch and John Lawrence; and siblings: Agnes Betzing, Janet Parrot, Pat Dean, and Clifford Johnson.
