Michael J. O'Brien

MICHAEL J. O'BRIEN, age 81 of Columbiaville, died Monday, June 23, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at St. John Catholic Church in Davison, with Fr. Carl Simon officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 11AM-8PM at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 7PM. Michael was born on October 5, 1932 in Flint, MI to James and Frances O'Brien. He married Frances Stelick on March 31, 1951. Michael retired from Buick in 1987. He enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, farming, mowing lawns, building houses, tending to his apple orchard, and playing with his tractor. Surviving are his children: Sandra (Buddie) Malaski, Gale (Don) Hetherington, Darlene Elliott, and Melissa (Johnny) Hickox; grandchildren: Linda, Brian, Serina, Steven, Joshua, Tom, Tiffany, Kimberly, and Johnny; great-grandchildren: Madison, Brendan, Kristina, Ethan, Wynter, Harley, Hayden, Alli, Ryley, Aubrey, Brian Thomas, and Ty; brother, Paul O'Brien; and sister, Susie Sersaw. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; grandson, Cody; and great-grandchild, Larz.
