Matthew J. Hymel

MATTHEW HYMEL, age 57 of Davison, Michigan, formerly of Marrero, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2018. A private service will be held at a later date at Chalmette National Cemetery in Chalmette, LA with military honors. Matthew was born on June 10, 1961 to Milton and Judy Hymel. He served in the United States Navy and was stationed at NAS Brunswich, ME. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking. Matt was the superintendent of Morris Homes while in Louisiana. He will be missed for his southern charm and his selfless acts of kindness. He was a true gentleman and an instant friend, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Matt always had a smile on his face and loved his family. He leaves behind four children:Christopher, Jacob Kadie Hymel of Westwego, Louisiana, and Dalton Chamberlin-Hymel of Davison; grandchildren: Brooke, Kyra, and Ava; brothers: Mark and Mike; sister, Kathy Peneguy; mother, Judy Hymel; stepmother, Rose Hymel; mother of youngest child and companion, Cindy Chamberlin of Davison; and many friends at Davison, Flint, and Port Huron Vantage Point Farmer's Markets.
