MARVIN A. BATEMAN, age 90 of Morley, went to be with the Lord and his wife on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 1PM on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Green Country Church in Morley, Michigan, with Pastor Roger Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Aetna Twp. Cemetery. The family will be receiving visitors on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 11AM until the time of the service at the church. Contributions may be made to the Green Country Church, PO Box 314, Stanwood, MI, 49346. Marvin was born on February 29, 1924 to John and Lillian (Opperman) Bateman. He was a member of the Green Country Church and the American Legion. Marvin loved his job at Kitson's and he also worked at Van's Heating and Cooling. But his greatest joy was working at MSHS as a custodian for 10 years. He faithfully served his country in the Army Air Corp from 1943-1945. He enjoyed woodworking and working on cars for everyone in the community. He is survived by his children: Denise (Carl) Campbell, Lorna (Milan) Campbell, Angela (Bob) Seaman, Steve Bateman, and Linda (Neil) Campbell; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanne (Ray) Norton; and sister-in-law, Betty Powell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; parents; brothers: Harold Bateman and James Bateman; and sisters: Alice Grow and Margie Burden.
