Martha J Holmes

MARTHA J. HOLMES, age 77 of Otter Lake, died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Hurley Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Mumford Hudson Funeral Home, with Pastor Ron Stier officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Journey Ministries, or St. Mark Lutheran Church-Flint. Mrs. Holmes was born in Poplar Bluff, MO on October 18, 1936, the daughter of James and Lena Tippitt. She married Dale G. Holmes on September 4, 1954 in Flint. Surviving are two sons: Gregory (Patti) Holmes and James P. (Natalie) Holmes; two daughters: Judith (Brian) Adams, Stacy (Tim) Barden; 7 grandchildren: Jessica (Jim), Amber (Bill), Joey (Bridget), Amanda (Jason), Adam, Nicholas (Chelsea), and Justin; 9 great-grandchildren: Samantha, Tyler, Caley, Ava, Gabrial, Colton, Jayden, Aria, and Leah; and sister, Theda Olds of FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; parents; mother and father in-law; and sisters: Juanita (Bob) Drahein and Erlene Theakston.
