Marie C. Barnes

MARIE C. BARNES age 89 of Otter lake died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Fisher Home Mayville. Her funeral service will take place at 1 PM Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Rev. Ann Norton officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery Davison. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of her service. Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Fisher Home, 521 W. Ohmer Rd Mayville MI 48744. Marie was born in Otter Lake on November 15, 1931 to Paul and Leona Heusted. She was the Homecoming queen in 1950, graduated from Otter Lake High school that same year, and then on June 10, 1950 married Calvin Barnes in Otter Lake. She enjoyed watching the birds and the deer, playing cards, going to the casino, and never missed Days of our Lives. Marie is survived by her husband of 70 years Calvin; children: Calleen (Gary) Ozdowski, Kim and Smokey Meinecke; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen (Daniel) Mihora.
