Lucille Patricia (Pat) Root

LUCILLE PATRICIA (PAT) ROOT, age 79 of Davison, died at her home on January 7, 2012, following a fifteen year battle with multiple myeloma. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January14, 2012 at 12:30 PM at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, Otisville. Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2012 from 1PM-8PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or to Whaley's Children's Home Project Redecorate. Lucille was born on January 24, 1932 in Flint, MI to James N. and Loretta (Mee) Spohn. She attended Flint Central High School. Pat was joined in marriage to Alden (Skip) Root on September 8, 1951. She owned and operated Pat's Beauty Salon in Richfield Township from 1962-1980. She is survived by her loving husband, Skip; daughter, Kathy (Gary) Hogard; daughter-in-law, Denise Root; grandchildren: Chad, Colt, and Cody Hogard and Kelsey Root. She also leaves behind her brother, John (Ann) Spohn; sisters: Connie Butz and Phyllis Wood June; and many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by son, Chris; granddaughter, Christen Root; brothers: Edward, William (Bud), Gerald, and Lawrence (Sid) Spohn; and sister, Rita Donnelly.
