Leland J. Hemingway

LELAND J. HEMINGWAY, age 82 of Otisville, died Monday May 24, 2010 at Genesys Hospice. A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 28, 2010 at Otisville United Methodist Church, Rev. Carter Garrigues-Cortelyou officiating. Cremation has taken place. Donations may be made to the Otisville United Methodist Church. Leland was born on July 27, 1927 to Nelson and Hilda Hemingway. He married Mary Davis on June 18, 1949. He was a member of the Otisville United Methodist Church, Otisville Masonic Lodge 401 F&AM, Michigan Education Association, National Education Association, and the Lakeville School Board for 16 years. He taught for many years at Lakeville Community Schools and enjoyed working on cars. Surviving is his wife, Mary Hemingway; three daughters: Barbara (David) Finger, Connie Hemingway and Leanne (Gary) Hemingway – Ciampa; granddaughter: Jordan Leigh Marie Hemingway; and sister: Lelah Kidd. He was preceded in death by daughter, Judy Forslund; two brothers: Leo and Lloyd; and two sisters: Alice and Mary.
