Lavern Maitland

LAVERN MAITLAND, age 85 of Millington, died Monday, June 22, 2015 at his home. A private service will be held at a later date. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Lavern was born on December 15, 1929 to Malcolm and Henrietta Maitland. He married Beverly Westphal on July 3, 1948. He retired from Buick on January 1, 1980, after 35 years of service. Lavern enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding around, and spending time with his family. He liked going up north, to the casino, and to car shows. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children: Terry (Sherry) Maitland, Debbie (Mike) Quinn, Randy (Liz) Maitland, and Robin Maitland; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and 2 sisters; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter. The family would like to extend a big thank you to First State Hospice, Barbara Kirchner, RN, and Chaplain Viola Gonzales for all of their love and support.
