Kenneth L. Gullekson, Jr.

KENNETH LEROY GULLEKSON, JR., age 72 of Otter Lake, was born on August 23, 1944 and died on March 5, 2017. Ken was an avid Red Wing and Tiger fan. He spent a good part of his life participating in and officiating youth hockey and baseball, encouraging young people to excel. He loved all sports but longed to be a "river rat," drifting happily down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers or being a land lover, cruising the highways and byways in his motorhome. Ken loved camping, particularly with members of the Otisville Church of Christ, where he worshipped and was actively engaged in the spiritual growth of himself and others. In his younger years, he directed teen activities that positively impacted and shaped the lives of many young people who today still love and admire his dedication and voice of reason. He touched the lives of everyone he met with a gentle smile and genuine love for honesty, integrity and truth.

Beloved husband of Fran; loving father to Greg (Holly) Gullekson, Jennifer Rivas Murillo, and "Lil" Erin Gullekson; loving step-father to Kelly (John) Finch, "Big" Erin (Gary) Osborne, Jim (Niki) Driskell, and Kim (John) Ruettinger.

He was cherished by many loving grandchildren: Nick, Samantha, Mary, Matt, Kiera, Johanna, Emily, Hannah, Zachary, Alex, Alyssa, Adrian, Landon, Reagan and Daniela.

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Darlene) and sister, Margaret (Mark) Crosby.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Otisville Church of Christ in Ken's Memory.

His funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 5-8PM and on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 11AM until service time.
