Katherine Y. Loik

Katherine Y. Loik of Otisville, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, with some of her family by her side and the rest in her heart. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Her memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Monday January 13, 2025, at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home Otisville. The family will receive visitors on Monday from 2 PM until the time of her service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Residential Home health and Hospice 1681 Woodbridge Park Ave, Lapeer, MI 48446.

Kathy was born on August 27, 1943, to Julia DeView Hale. She graduated from Lapeer High School in 1961. She married Bill Loik on November 28, 1964. Together they had four children, Paul (Cindy); Marie (Mike); Billy; and Tony (Courtney). She was proud to say that she drove school bus for LakeVille Community Schools for 21 years and many of the students she transported still remembered her kindness as well as her brand of "enforcing the rules." She and Bill were able to retire early and realize the dream of owning a second home in Florida. She wintered there up until her death.

Kathy was proceeded in death by her husband, Bill; sisters Jane and Ann; and her brothers, Bob and John. She leaves her brother Jim (Nancy); her children; grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan), Amy (Ethan), Jaclyn, Katie (Chris), Derek, Tatum, Alex, Jacob, Anthony, and Morgan and Brady. She also leaves beloved great grandchildren, RaeLynn, Theo, Maeve and many nieces and nephews. She was looking forward to meeting future great grandchildren. Kathy was blessed to have many friends both those who proceeded her in death and those she leaves behind. She would want to mention specifically, special friends Donna Averill and Dan and Sue Kelsey.
