John Maxwell Declute

JOHN MAXWELL DeCLUTE, age 88 of Otisville, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Lapeer Community Medical Care Facility (Suncrest). An 11AM graveside service will be held on Tuesday September 3, 2013 in Smith Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or Lapeer Community Medical Care Facility. John was born on December 03, 1924 to Thomas and Alma (Maxwell) Declute. He retired after 25 years as a bus mechanic for LakeVille Schools. John was a member of the Otisville American Legion Ezra Paul 321 for 71 years. He was also a member of the 40et8 and the Otisville Masonic Lodge 401 F&AM. He enjoyed working on cars and working with wood, but John was most known for his wit and wisdom. Surviving is the mother of his children, Maxine DeClute; children: Dave (Mary) DeClute, Kathy (John) Esper, and Phil (Beth) DeClute; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky; parents; 2 sisters and a brother. The family would like to thank the staff at the Lapeer Medical Care Facility (Suncrest).
