JOANNE G. NIEMAN, age 71 of Otisville, died, Saturday, May11, 2013 at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Mumford –Hudson Funeral Home, with Pastor S. Alan Duce officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8PM Wednesday, May 15, 2013 and Noon-3PM and 5-8PM Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society. Joanne was born on October 25, 1941 to Carl and Geraldine Pettit. She enjoyed bowling and loved her cats and her neighbors. Surviving are her children: Shelly (John Ensley) Nieman of Washington, Michael (Ellen) Nieman of Davison, and Mark (Janet) Nieman of Davison; grandchildren: Cassie, Nicholas, Heather, and Gregory; great-grandchildren: Gracie, Seth, Lilly, Landon, and Madalynn; and mother, Geraldine (Pettit) Lewis. Brothers: Billie (Edith) Pettit Darrell (Teresa) Pettit. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; father, Carl Pettit; step-father, David Lewis; and in-laws, Ed and Doris Nieman.
