Joann Elizabeth Breckenridge

JoAnn Elizabeth Breckenridge, went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2023. JoAnn was the third child of seven of Clare & Betty (Lutz) Breckenridge. JoAnn was born September 28, 1946 in Flint, Michigan. She graduated class of 1964 from LakeVille Memorial High School and went on to Flint Community College (Mott) & Central Michigan College earning a B.S. in Education. She also was special education certified. She started her career in Dade City Florida in a small Baptist School. After a few years, she came back to the family farm and taught at John R. Rice Academy and several small Christian Schools in the Flint area. JoAnn also did some substituting at LakeVille Memorial High School. After retiring, she took care of her mother and sister, Cathy. JoAnn loved her church family at Emmanuel Baptist Church and appreciated the love and support from Otter Lake Church of the Nazarene. JoAnn is survived by her sisters: Donna (Sam Fackler) Smith, Annie (Jim Keidel) Breckenridge & Ruth (Darwin) Groff; brothers: Gene (Linda) Breckenridge & Jim Breckenridge; aunts, Erba Hynes, Toni Lutz; many cousins; nieces & nephews: Dawn Campbell, Daniel (Dee) Breckenridge, Chad (Ellen) Breckenridge, James (Carolyn) Breckenridge Jr., Angi (Mark) McConnaughhay, Jim Smith & Juli (Larry) Forsyth, Nic (Alaina) Brittain Billy (Christine) Groff, Jessie Groff, and Corky Groff; and special friends:  Peggy (Larry) Smith and Bernie & Lorretta Oviatt. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cathy; nieces: Kimberly & Jennifer Breckenridge; brother in law, James Smith; sister in law, Laurel; grandparents; and several aunts, uncles & cousins; special friend David Anderson.

JoAnn's funeral service will be at 1PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Milan Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 12PM to 8PM at the funeral home.
