Jeanette C. Nobles, age 62 of New Era, Michigan, has returned to the embrace of her heavenly father on December 20, 2015 after a long struggle with brain cancer. Born on November 20, 1953 to Alan and Ada Strasel, in Saginaw Michigan, Jeanette was one of 9 children. Jeanette grew up in Merrill, Michigan and attended Central Michigan University, where she achieved a degree in Education. Jeanette taught in San Juan, Puerto Rico for 5 years before returning to Michigan. Jeanette married David A. Nobles at the Hart Congregational Church on August 20, 1988. Jeanette worked at various locations, primarily in the education field. She went on to attain degrees in Accounting and Business Administration at Southwest Michigan College, while working for the College. Jeanette was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1998. Jeanette relocated to New Era, Michigan in 2002 and was an active member of the Shelby Seventh Day Adventist Church. She helped to build the new church and was active in the supper club, many youth and health activities, and took a mission trip to Indonesia. Jeanette was a member of the Pentwater Yacht club for 27 years and a member of the Oceana County Reserve Medical Corp. Jeanette enjoyed sunset walks on the Pentwater South Pier, the family cottage in Pentwater, her gardens and visits with family and friends. Jeanette is survived by her husband, David A. Nobles; her parents, Alan and Ada Strasel; and her siblings, Jim Strasel of Hemlock, Nancy (John) Drummond of Cedar Springs, Paul Strasel of Merrill, Lee (Amy) Strasel of Clio, Steve (Lisa) Strasel of Merrill, and Lisa (Paul) Muller of Lake Ann; Sister in Law, Nancy (Bill) Szikszay of Otisville; Brother in Law, Jim (Lynn) Peters of Davison and Brother in Law, Brian (Penny)Nobles of Fort Myers,FL . Jeanette's brothers, John and Dean, preceded her into eternity. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and the annual family gatherings.

A celebration of Jeanette's life will be held on February 13, 2016 at 2:30 PM at the Shelby Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 1929 South 58th Avenue, Shelby, Michigan 49455. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Foundation for Oceana County, P.O. Box 367, Shelby, Michigan 49455, to the Medical Reserve Corp Fund, to the Shelby Seventh Day Adventist Church Building Fund, or to a charity of your choosing.
