Jean R. Banyas

JEAN R. BANYAS, age 87 of Otisville, died April 17, 2012 at Suncrest Medical Facility of Lapeer. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville, Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11AM- 8PM on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the funeral home with a prayer service vigil at 7PM. Contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Jean was born on September 16, 1924 in Jay, New York to Sydney and Mildred (Rivers) Ferris. She married Thomas Banyas on June 21, 1943 in Palm Beach, Florida. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and Catechism classes at church. Jean was a great mom, grandmother, and cook. Surviving are her children: Tom (Madeline), Theresa, Mark (Pam), Greg (Debbie), Rick (Neat), Janice (Stacy), Christy (George), Brad (Jeri), Mary (John), and Millie; 34 Grandchildren, and 36 Great-Grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Tom Banyas. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Suncrest for their wonderful care.
