James Leroy Newbery

JAMES L. NEWBERY of Lapeer, formerly of Otter Lake age 87 died Tuesday, September19, 2006 at his residence. Memorial service will be at the Otter Lake Park, 2:00 PM October 7, 2006. Cremation has taken place. He was born in Otter Lake on June 2, 1919 to his parents Edward and Blanche Newbery. James married Vernia Summerfield on December 30, 2003 in Caro MI. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and reading he retired form the US Army after 30 years of service. Surviving is his wife Vernia; brother: Lyle (Neva) Newbery; 4 children: Barbara Temple and Larry Alford, Karen and Mike Mainor, James and Sharon Newbery, Edward (Skip) and Carol Newbery; 7 Grandchildren: Amanda Temple, David Coftel, Alexander Mainor, Layne Mainor, Lauren Newbery, Wendy Newbery, Michael and Jennifer Newbery; Great-grandchildren: Julianna Newbery; Step-children: Suzanne and James Baier, Gary, Heusted, Patti and Kenny Harrison; 10 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his late wife Grace Newbery, his parents, 2 sisters: Rhoda McComb, Ilda Sutherby and brother Charles Newbery.
