James A. Breckenridge

James Breckenridge, age 78 of Cass City, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Jim was born in Flint, MI on April 13, 1948 to Clare and Betty Breckenridge. He graduated from LakeVille High School in the class of 1966. He enjoyed fishing, riding snowmobiles, playing Euchre, traveling, and woodworking.

James is survived by his son, James (Carolyn) Breckenridge, Jr.; step daughter, Cheree Clear; grandchildren: Carrie King, Berry King, Tyler Hennessy, Heidi Ethier (Justin Lackney), Casey Breckenridge (Sinjin Huber), Krystal (Thomas) Clevenger III, and Michelle (Michael) Baily; great grandchildren: Tabbatha Tron, Torunn, Toby, Sydnee, Kaylee, Thomas, Tamara, Ryder, Xavier, Natalee, Kora, Thomas IV, Shiloh Zoe III, Haiden, and Porter ; siblings: Gene (Linda) Breckenridge, Annie (Jim) Breckenridge, and Ruthy (Darwin) Breckenridge; friends, Bill and Jackie of Ohio, and friend and caretaker, Dwane Wilcox.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Laurel; daughters: Kimberly and Jennifer Breckenridge; sisters: Cathy Breckenridge, JoAnn Breckenridge, and Donna (Jim) Smith-Breckenridge; and his parents.
