HARVEY J. ELWOOD, age 80 of Millington, went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2008 at his home. Visitation will be held from 2-9 PM Monday, July 14, 2008. Funeral Services will be
1 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville, Rev. Carter Garrigues-Cortelyou officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Hill Cemetery in Otisville. Contributions may be made to West Forest United Methodist Church. Harvey was born in Long Lake, MI on April 9, 1928 to Clifford and Anna (Southworth) Elwood. He married Nancy Anne Decker on June 16, 1951. He was a member of the US Army and Retired from Buick after 32 years. Harvey attended West Forest United Methodist Church. He loved his family and music. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cutting wood, and telling stories to anyone who would listen. Harvey cared deeply about people and was always looking out for others. Surviving is his wife Nancy; Children: Ken (Pat) Elwood of Fostoria, Rev. Steve (MaryJo) Elwood of Mayville, Barbara (Jim) Cimko of Oneonta, NY, Bonnie (David) McMillin of Kingston, and Roger (Tersa) Elwood of Otisville; Grandchildren: Tina, Nathan, Chad, Christine (David), Steven (Elaine), Katherine (Sam), Rebecca, Ryan (Jenn), Adam, Sara (Gabriel), and Heather (Daryl); 11 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Brothers: Jack and Meredith; Sister: Betty Forcade; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill.
