Geraldine (Gerry) M. Heusted

GERALDINE (GERRY) MARIE HEUSTED, age 87 of Otisville, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at McLaren of Lapeer. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Rev. Ann Norton officiating. Cremation will take place following her service. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 10AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Geraldine was born on May 27, 1930 to Harry and Katherine (Wheeler) Kennedy. She married Douglas George Heusted on August 19, 1950. Gerry worked for LakeVille Community Schools in the cafeteria for over twenty years before retiring. She took pleasure in the delight she would see in the student's eyes as she served her popular cinnamon rolls and peanut butter goodies. In later years, she enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with friends. Surviving are her children: Steve (Lisa) Heusted, Connie (Michael) Beard, and Jodie (Keith) Heusted; seven grandchildren: Eric (Chelsea) Heusted, Chad (Amanda) Heusted, Ryan (Kati) Beard, Amy (Adam) Gumbrecht, Brett (Kim) Stokes, Erin (Ray) Stokes and Adam (Courtney) Stokes; great-grandchildren: Madelyn and Lily Heusted, Marisol Messenger, and Ella Kay Dolman; and furry friend, Max. The family would like to offer a special thanks to her dear friends and helpers, Alice Reeves and Susan Hemingway. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; parents; seven sisters and one brother.
