GEORGE "ELMER" SNOVER, age 89 of Millington, died Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Fisher Convalescent Home in Mayville. His funeral service will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington. Burial will follow in Millington Twp. Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 1-8PM and on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 11AM until the time of his service at the church. Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity, and distancing guidelines must be practiced. Elmer was born in Ovid, MI on February 15, 1931 to Charles and Clara Snover. He was very active within the Millington Community, where he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Charter Member of the Millington Lions Club, Millington Fire Department, and the Village Council. In 1998, Elmer was voted Millington's Most Honored Citizen. Elmer was known as "Mr. Fix-it." He could fix anything and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Elmer is survived by his sons: Martin (Judith) Snover and James (Heather) Snover; grandchildren: Amy (Zachary) Waugh, Ellexi (Alex) Notwell, and Angelica Doan; great grandchildren: Destiny, and Christine; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; parents; and siblings: Harold and Irene.
