Gaye L. Filarski

GAYE L. (EAGLE) FILARSKI, age 76 of Long Lake, MI, formerly of Alpena and Otisville, passed away July 3, 2020. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Gaye was born in Alpena on December 30, 1943 to John and Lucille (Corpus) Eagle. She married Richard Filarski in 1962. Gaye was a bus driver for LakeVille Schools. She was also a foreign exchange host for three Brazilian students. She enjoyed scrap booking, fishing, and traveling. Gaye had been a breast cancer survivor for over 25 years. She is survived by her sons: Ricky (Lisa Margrif) of Otisville, Michael (Lori) of Davison, and Dennis (Amy) of South Lyon; grandchildren: Lindsie, Kristie, and Devon; great grandchildren: Jayce and Elaina;  siblings: Jolene (Jim) Babars, Joanna Paul, Terry McLaren, Beth Stobaugh, Jan (Joe) Doyle, Tonna (Jim) Nichols, and Eran Shinabarger; and several nieces, nephews, and very close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Filarski, brother, Todd Shinabarger; brothers-in-law: Keith Stobaugh and Ron Paul; nephew, Dale Sawatski and special friend, Ronald King.
