FRANK TAKACS, age 83 of Clio, died on December 4, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. Charles and Helena Church, 230 E. Vienna Rd., Clio, MI 48420, with Rev. Fr. Ken Coughlin officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 4-8PM at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Frank worked at Fisher Body for 30 years. He married Janice Hutchinson. They were married for 50 years and she preceded him in death in 2007. Together they had 5 children. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his story telling, and his enthusiasm for life. For over 30 years, he was known as the man with white hair on a bicycle. Frank was dedicated to his health. Frank was also a proud US Marine, who served in Korea. Frank loved art and was still drawing and sharing his drawings with close friends and family. Frank had a strong faith. He enjoyed his church family and knew his faith and prayer would help serve him in times of trouble and in his everyday life. Frank is survived by his children: Frank Takacs, Jr., Rick (Beth) Takacs, Susan (Matt) Henderson, Debra (Paul) Hirn, and Patrick (Isma) Takacs; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; siblings: Mary Anne (Eugene) Kovacs, Barbra Ann (Al) Ogorik, Delores (Ray) Peltier, Ed Takacs, Bernie Klimes, and Julie (Mike) Fortune; sisters-in-law: Eloise York and Pat Kagey; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; brother, Elmer Takacs; sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Morris) Ryan; and brother-in-law, Tony Klimes.
