Ford Lamont Birtles

FORD L. BIRTLES, age 88 of Otisville, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be 1PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, Pastor Patrick England officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 1-8PM. Box 86, Otisville, MI 48463; or Forest Twp. Firefighters Association 130 E. Main St., Otisville, MI 48463. Ford was born on February 25, 1923 to Clyde and Frances Birtles. Ford was In the Army Aircorp during WWII. He. Owned and operated the Chrysler Plymouth Dodge dealership in Otisville. Ford was a member of the Otisville Area Historical Association and Otisville American Legion Ezra Paul Post #321. He was a past member of Otisville/Forest Twp. Fire Dept., Forest Twp. Planning Committee, Forest Twp. Board of Review, Chrysler Parts and Service Guild, Greater Flint Automobile Dealers Assoc., Genesee County Fire Chiefs Assoc., Genesee County Fireman's Assoc., Genesee County Fire Mutual Aid Coordinators, and many more. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, baseball, boating, hunting, fishing, camping, square dancing, traveling, and the warm winters in Florida. Surviving are his children: Darlene (Brian) Hicks, Larry Birtles; brothers: Eldon (Dorothy) Birtles, Dale ( Phyllis) Birtles, Clayton (Nancy) Birtles; sister, Phyllis Masselink; sister-in-law, Sharon(Bruce) Raymond; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ford was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma (Henderson) Birtles; very special friend, Arletta Hadd; siblings: Norman Birtles, Alva Birtles, James Birtles, Dorland Birtles, and Harold Birtles.
