Evelyn Collins

Collins, Evelyn L., age 81, of Otter Lake, Michigan, passed from this life on February 16, 2025, at home. Evelyn moved to Otter Lake with her family as a young girl and graduated from LakeVille High School. She met her husband in Otter Lake and raised her children there. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, birdwatching, and baking. She spent her life giving to her family and the community. She worked in the LakeVille schools as a cook, worked her way up to head cook and retired after 20+ years. She endlessly shared her joy of baking by making treats and delicious dishes for many fundraisers for the community, most notable were the fundraisers for the LakeVille Area Adopt a Family, which held monthly fundraisers to be able to provide Christmas dinners and gifts to families in need within the LakeVille school district. Not only did she make treats for the community, she also supported businesses and churches in the area by donating items to them or participating in their events.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William (Bill) Jr., children Correen (Buck) Coultas, Carolyn (Don) Lee, William Collins III, brother Richard Bacon, grandchildren Jessica (Joshua) Schulze, Kimberly (Jason) Gerber, Jacob Coultas, Anthony Collins, Haley Hoffman, Kasandra (Christopher) Blackford, Zachary (Silver) Lee, Michael Collins Carillo, Christian Carrillo, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, Willard and Ethel Bacon, brothers Gerald Bacon, Dwain Bacon, Robert Bacon and great-grandson Emryk Schulze.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer charity in Evelyn's memory.

The family would like to thank Nurse Ashley and McLaren Hospice Davison for their genuine care and support.
