Eugene John Kuerbitz, Jr., of Grand Blanc, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 24, 2026 in Harrison, MI. His funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Otter Lake Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 4-8PM, with an Eastern Star Service at 6PM and a Masonic service to follow. Contributions may be made to O.E.S. Grand Chapter Service Dogs, 20411 W. 12 Mile Rd., Southfield, MI 48076.
Eugene was born on June 1, 1971 in Southfield, MI and was adopted by Eugene J. Kuerbitz, Sr. and Jean (Geldhof) Kuerbitz. He was raised in Pontiac and Clarkston, MI and graduated from Clarkston High School. On March 25, 2006, he married Michelle (Clute) Kuerbitz. They celebrated their 20th anniversary this year.
Eugene loved the Lord Jesus Christ and worshipped Him with much enthusiasm. He also loved everyone. He was a kind, caring, and gentle giant with a huge heart. Eugene was a member of Richfield Reaching Methodist Church in Davison, MI, where he served as a trustee, presented the offering to the Lord at the front of the church, and assisted with the slide presentations for services.
He was a member of Mt. Morris Masonic Lodge #535 F.T.A.M. and Grand Blanc #507 OES. He also served as an adult volunteer for Bethel #30 Jobs Daughters. Eugene loved his family, his friends, his church, and above all, God.
He enjoyed going for drives, “toodling” to see nature, wildlife, and bodies of water. Eugene enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially football, listening to music, and animals. He loved spending time with his niece, Hannah and nephew, Jacob and going to the cabin in Harrison.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Kuerbitz; mother-in-law, Donna Clute; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Christopher and Ana Clute; aunts, Karen Kuerbitz and Cindy Moran; uncles, David Trombly and Ed Moran; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean (Geldhof) Welch; father and step-mother, Eugene and Marie Kuerbitz; aunts, Christine Trombly and Alida Edwards; father-in-law, James Clute; sister-in-law, Kristen Clute; and cousins: Danny Trombly, Kathy Edwards Fleisher, Michael Hudziak, Johnny Lazanas and David Trevino.
