Elaine J. Buckel

ELAINE JANIS BUCKEL, age 86 of Millington, died on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at her residence. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 3-8PM on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home. Elaine was born on April 22, 1936 in Mt. Morris, MI to William and Ann Stroope. She graduated from Clio High School in the class of 1954. A year later, she married Robert J. Buckel on August 27, 1955 at All Saints Catholic Church in Flint, MI. Elaine enjoyed reading, walking around her property every day, and crocheting blankets for every grandchild. She and Robert took the boys camping in Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Longlac, Canada, West Branch, Rose City, Oscoda, Tawas, Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Ludington, Ozark Mountains, Pocono Mountains, and Towanda PN. The two of them also traveled to Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Paraguay, Uruguay, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Falkland Islands, and Hawaii. They wintered in Clermont and Orlando, FL, Arizona City, AZ, Arkadelphia, AK, and Dublin and Zorra, Ontario. Elaine is survived by her children: Robert, Jr. (Cynthia) Buckel of Tucson, AZ., Michael (Glory) Buckel of Lake Fenton, MI, Thomas (Marlene) Buckel of Millington, MI, and Steven Buckel of Millington, MI.; grandchildren: Christopher Buckel, Kortnee Macey, Zachary Buckel, Sasha Buckel, Nikolai Buckel, Alex Buckel, Derek Buckel, and Lindsey Lamar; brothers: William Stroope, Jr. and Carl Stroope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on August 1, 2016, and her parents.
