Douglas George Heusted

DOUGLAS GEORGE HEUSTED, age 84 of Otisville, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at McLaren of Lapeer. A funeral service will be held at 1PM Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Mumford – Hudson Funeral Home, with Rev. Ann Norton. Cremation will take place after the funeral. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 10AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Doug was born July 9, 1928 to Ernest and Viola (Lumsden) Heusted. He married Geraldine (Gerry) Marie Kennedy on August 19, 1950. Doug served in the US Navy and is a WWII veteran. He worked and retired from General Motors. He was a member of the American Legion 504 and Otter Lake VFW. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Surviving is his wife, Geraldine; children: Steve (Lisa) Heusted, Connie (Michael) Beard, and Jodie (Dallas) Chapin; seven grandchildren: Eric, Chad (Amanda) Heusted; Ryan (Kati) Beard, Amy Beard, Brett, Erin, and Adam Stokes; great-grandchildren: Madelyn and Lily; brothers: Bill (Phyliss) Heusted, Dale (Janice) Heusted, LaVerne (Phyllis) Heusted, and Gary (Mary) Heusted; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roger Heusted.
