DOROTHY A. BARDEN, age 87 of Otisville, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. A private memorial service will be held with Rev. Janine Plum officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lakeville Girls Sports, Inc. Dorothy was born in Brent Creek, MI on September 30, 1921 to Thomas and Grace (Anes) Lawler. She enjoyed gardening, farming, and playing music. She also loved taking care of her dog, Buddy, and cat, Baby. Surviving are her children: Marlene Kuzma, Linda (Ron) Vandesteene, and Charles D. (Tanya Jones) Barden; Grandchildren: Michelle (Brian) Stiglich, Mark Kuzma, Steven (Cheryl) Kuzma, Jennifer and Kimberly Vandesteene, Michael (Jamie) Vandesteene, Jade Newman, and Hayley Barden; Great-Grandchildren: Chalsey, Jared, Blake, Mitchell, Marisa, and Garrett; Sister: Erma (Joe) Barden; Sister-In-Law: Ruth Lawler; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Barden; Son: James; Brother: Philip Lawler; her mother and father; and Son-In-Law: John P. Kuzma.
