Donald E. Smith

Donald Eugene Smith, age 65 of Columbiaville, died Friday, June 28, 2024 at his home. His memorial service and gathering will be held from 1-4PM on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Lapeer Twp. Hall, 1500 Morris Rd., Lapeer, MI 48446. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Donald was born in Yale,  MI on July 21, 1958 to David and Doris Smith. He worked for General Motors for 30+ years. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, working on tractors, feeding wildlife, and gardening.

Donald is survived by his wife, Diane Smith; son, Donnie Smith; siblings: Bob Smith, Kevin (Julie) Smith, Terrie (Mike) Clark, Dave (Dawn) Smith, and Gerrie Lynn; brothers and sisters in-law: Brad (Mary) Bartholomew, George Bartholomew, Tammy (Chris) Bartholomew, and Joe Jennings; special family: Gary and Brandon; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his pets: Otis and Little Miss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Doris; brother, Marlon; father and mother in-law, Brad and Betty; brother in-law, Carl; sisters in-law: Tina and Michelle; and nephew, Brandon.
