DONALD E. NIEMAN age70 of Millington passed away suddenly Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville with Pastor Alan Duce officiating. Contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5PM to 9PM and Wednesday from Noon to 3PM and 5 to 9PM. Don was born in Detroit Michigan on August 5, 1938 to Edmund and Doris Nieman. Don Married Joanne G. Pettit of Otisville on August 23, 1958. Lived in the Otisville/Millington area. Don was a volunteer Fire Fighter for the Otisville Fire Dept., as well as assisting with ambulance service, and later in life with funeral services for Hudson Funeral Service. He taught auto body repair at Mott and Davison High School, retiring from auto body work in September of 1990. Surviving are wife: Joanne Nieman; children: Shelly Nieman of Washington, Michael and Ellen Nieman of Davison and Mark Nieman of Davison, Grandchildren: Cassie, Nicholas, Heather and Gregory Nieman, great grandchild Gracie, mother-in-law Geraldine (Pettit) Lewis. Preceded in death by his parents Ed and Doris, and father-in-law Carl Pettit, and step father-in-law David Lewis.
