David A. Lewis age 87 of Otisville died Tuesday January 13, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday January 17, 2009 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison, Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday 1:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 9PM at the Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville. Contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society. David was born in Flint Michigan on May 3, 1921 and was a resident of the Flint area all of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was a life member of Clio VFW Post #1452 and the Clio American Legion Post #158 and also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris and the UTU since 1950. Mr. Lewis was a conductor with the CSX Railroad for 31 years, retiring in 1980. Survivors: wife: Geraldine; 2 daughters: Betty Funsch of Sun City Center, Fl., Pamela and husband Patrick Spearling of Otisville; step-children: Cecile and husband Albert Morgan of Tustin, CA, Rosalie and husband William Craven of Flint, Kalyn and husband Richard Harmon of Franklin, IN, Margie and husband Steven Rourke of Mt. Morris, Mary and husband Raymond Nerreter of Fenton, Joanne and husband Donald Nieman of Millington, Bill and wife Edith Pettit of Auburn Hills, MI, Darrell and wife Teresa Pettit of St. Helen, MI; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren, and special great granddaughter Madilyn Galbraith Spearling; sister: Theda and husband Carl Norman of Burton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2nd wife: Frances; 3rd wife: Catherine; 2 brothers Elgin and Gene; sister: Ann Cook; grandsons: Thomas and David Funsch.
